I think you may have misunderstood the point of the example. I'm not generalising, I'm using a possible example mechanism which, along with the other points I raised can give skew your results. I'm asking you to question your conclusion. There are so many ways in which your experiences can be biased that your conclusions are very hard to put any credence to. I then pointed out that I had different experiences to again prove the point. Things are not as simple as you paint.

This certainly applies to certain British workers. I know of a tall pony tailed lad who is working in the Liverpool area. He is terrible at his job, but will they replace him with a more skilled foreign worker? It doesn't seem so.
Strangely, one of his colleagues has strong views on foreign workers and he's an immigrant himself (you couldn't make it up), but thankfully his guvnor has turned a blind eye to this as he's apparently pretty good at his job.

Part of the reason people hold views in line with what nick1962 has just posted is that an answer of 'racist' or 'ignorant' or 'bigot' do nothing to answer their concerns.

We live in a society where not everyone understands the finer points of every scenario, and are left feeling confused when their beliefs or understanding are challenged as racist.

It doesn't and cannot happen. Only entitled to benefits and free healthcare once working here for a year apart from "in work benefits such as housing benefit" for eu immigrants and healthcare for EU immigrants - same entitlement as we have in other coutries

Our benefit system is not "relatively generous" most other EU countries are far more generous.

Whilst this is probably true, do you really consider the [i]actual[/i] number of people doing this to be in any way significant? Have you any actual idea just how difficult it is for most immigrants to actually get any benefits unless they've bin here for quite a while?

Just that the amount of 'estimated' fraudulent benefit claims is a fraction of the amount of tax 'avoided' by massive corporations, not to mention the amount in unclaimed benefits...

IE, you're talking about something that's of practically no economic significance. A typical bit of Daily Fail hysterical sensationalism. Designed to detract form far more serious issues, like massive corporations using political influence to leverage enormous tax 'concessions' from their stooges in Parliament....

Also our benefits system is far more generous than any of the accession countries and is relatively simple to exploit quite legitimately and also illegitimately.

I am not getting trying to make any racial issue with this and my comments are aimed at (some) of the EU migrants.And the ones I meet round here ain't too keen on you "brayn" folk and would overwhelm social services if reported judging by some of the child rearing I have witnessed
I have no figures to hand so spare me please TJ but even the UK government struggles to get a proper handle on the econmics of the recent migration from the(not so) newly EU countries.It is v.complicated.
Take TJ's point about having to work here for a year,though even this has lapsed now for some I reckon.But even if it still does you can come to the UK for a year work a minimum wage job topped up with some in work benefits-job ends then you can claim more or less for ever including your family ,as appears to be by my unscientifc anecdotal evidence.Is that sustainable?
I take your point Elf about us all getting f88ked over by the rich getting away without paying their fair share and Triden,Iraq Afghanistan etc t etc etc but it's still us PAYE folk who are footing an ever increasing benefits bill.

Yeah, there are a very small minority who are a bit nazi, but the vast majority of East Yerpeans I've met have bin sound. Like the crowd on a Number Twenty Five bus one night, coming home from a night out in Forest Gate, and they're all on there bottles of vodka, plastic cups. Giving out drinks to everyone on the bus. Time I got to Stepney I was mullered. And they were just getting warmed up! 😯

As for the child-rearing, I jolly well have not seen any significantly bad examples, nowhere near on a par with some of the 'non-immigrant' population, I must say.

I am not racist. I see only one race of humans.

People judge who you hang out with I guess. These are mainly colleagues rather than close friends except 1 or 2 from school days.
Some of them base it on experience/ignorance/values.

The closest friends I have are good people who care about everyone and not racist and these I tend to call my close friends.

I move around the U.K. alot and try to surround myself with positive people.

The world is strange place that needs more racial tolerance.

We've assimilated more cultures, races and creeds into our idea of a shared national identity than any other country.

It's what we do.
