I'm planning a trip in July that includes climbing Mt Kenya. 2 of the people I'm taking don't have any camping equipment. Rather than buying new/used equipment want to see if anyone hires the gear out because they probably won't use it after the trip. They aren't particulalry outdoorsy.
So, is there anywhere that hires out decent 4 season sleeping bags, mats and down jackets?

Try your local authority. North Tyneside Council used to have a small equipment store within the education / parks / facilities area for the hire of kit. We used to use it to top up for DofE award exped stuff and I hired some XC skis one year. Some might still have them and the kit was OK.
