I still can't wait for them to be utterly humiliated at the GE, but in the interim whilst they are still running our country, thinning out far right headbangers like Braverman and bringing in a few more sober heads has got to be a good thing. It's all relative of course, but marginally less deranged and hate mongering is the best we can hope for and Cameron fits that bill.
For our system to function it needs viable opposition. If Dave can help provide this in Tory banishment, then happy days. I hope he's got the staying power.

However he has one redeeming quality......he has excellent presentation skills (call me Dave)

Having looked at the mail comments Cameron seems to be winning although Sunak isnt far behind.
Apparently its all the lefties fault and we need a proper right wing conservative government to fix the mess caused by the left being in power for the last 13 years.

Cameron has made a few questionable decisions it's fair to say.
There are 2 that I can never forgive him for though.
1 Austerity. That has and still is causing misery. It's been directly linked to deaths where people with extreme mental health issues have died after being sanctioned. Most of the deaths are too hard to directly link though but it's there. How many people would still be here if the NHS was in a better state for a start. Far more hidden is the absolute disintegration of the social Mrs that used to be there to help many of the most vulnerable in society. It's an absolute tragedy.
2 Brexit. 7 years of decline, chaos and the normalising of racial hatred... all to heal a Tory party that is still at war with itself. It's the epitome of party over country and the Tories should never be forgiven for it.
Dave has a soothing voice as he slides the dagger into the nation's ribs though, I'll give him that.
I think he'll be seen as competent, and given the choice of voting for him Vs a ghastly labour leftie the Tory faithful might just turn out enough to swing it. Terrifying.
Brexit referendum? Who exactly was responsible for that result? Not Cameron, try the lazy complacent sods who didn’t bother to get off their sofas to vote.
Turnout for the Brexit referendum was much higher than for general elections, though.

@Poopscoop Thank you for that. I totally agree with you over your first point; there must be countless tragedies attributable to Tory policies around austerity, absolutely unforgivable.
I also remember being co-erced by a mate into helping out at a polling station that night of the referendum; you know, one of those anoraks who ask for your card, give you a pen, tell you where to go etc? I remember thinking it's too bloody quiet, this is going to go horribly wrong. And it did. So, again, who's fault was that?
I sincerely hope Cameron has learned from his arrogance and come back into politics for the right reasons; I doubt it; but there has to be some hope. This isn't for my political preferences, but for a hope for UK politics generally. Like I said before, whichever party or coalition governs, the system needs a credible opposition.
IMHO Sunak will make money, the election will be lost with Sunak as the token fall guy and Dodgy Dave will be the new more charismatic opposition leader.
At least he might bring some humour to PMQs. He'll have plenty of ammunition 🙄
It's an absolute farce. The guy that called the referendum on a badly calculated gamble around renegotiating eu rules, who failed to make any decent case about staying (arrogantly assuming we'd stay but at least he could say he tried his best), who flounced when it went the way of the liars ...and he's back as the elder statesman when the party is on its knees and is foreign secretary. It really is beyond parody and I am disgusted by the state of our politics.
The last thing I want in pmqs is humour, we need this total shower out so we can get to the serious business of sorting this country out.

I'm not in any way attempting to defend tory actions, I'm trying to present a balanced overview of how dysfunctional our parliamentary system has become. We've got a pack of self serving shits presiding over a nation of self serving shits, criticised from the sidelines by sanctimonious shits with no clue as to how to put it right.
