Hi all. Was out walking yesterday on Dartmoor near Belstone tor and saw a group getting seriously muddy and have been totally re inspired to get out there on some new routes.
So. Has anybody got any good suggestions of routes on Dartmoor that aren't the nutcracker near Lustleigh.
Cheers.

Have you tried the loop from Burrator Reservoir, around the old railway line and the quarries (Foggin Tor, Kings Tor, Ingra Tor), out to Princetown and back down to Burrator? It's a gentle loop (13ish miles), drains well in places and it's fun to hoon back down the track at the end.

Burrator loop round to Princetown +1, also it can be extended for two runs at the Widowmaker by going up the scout hut climb.

burrator/princetown loop is probably the most weatherproof but it is also pretty exposed. its dead easy to navigate but there is little to no shelter if its blowing or raining.

which it has been for the best part of a month now on dartmoor...
