Heard them talking about this on 5 Live at lunchtime, sounds like he found his after football life a bit tricky. Sad news

I'm not a massive footy fan, but I remember that goal against Wimbledon and it is one of the few things I can trot out to try to convince people I know about football.
Sounds like things didn't work out very well for him after he stopped playing.

I loved him as a player. That's how I want to remember him. BBC reports are a bit more Seattle than Shropshire.
I loved Big Ron's comment when he signed him. When the fans start chanting Atkinson Out he'll be straight on the transfer list.
