I've got the option to buy a house that's been rented out for a number of years, the vacating tenant has been declared bankrupt - anyone know if my credit rating would be impacted on by me moving in?

Wouldn't have thought so and even if it was, it'd be easy to remove surely?

No. Common myth. Credit ratings go on you, your details, not the address (though the postcode can be a factor in scorecarding, but the broad post code not the specific one). When I was in credit & risk we always got people saying the bad credit was the address, but we could see it was them, their DOB, their name, their bad credit.

If you have a mortgage with someone who has bad credit that can impact as you share financial arrangements but not the previous tenant, automatic Credit searches will class the individual as totally unrelated to you, and ignore that info.
