OK so that scumbag Bettison is retiring. However by doing so the IPCC cannot bring misconduct charges against him. Additionally he says his retiring will allow the IPCC to fully investigate allegations against him. I actually hope that his being in the role or not would have no impact on how fully the IPCC investigated him.
However that may also indicate that the IPCC does not really want to investigate serving officers too enthusiastically.
Personally I have my own thoughts.
