Don't they're rubbish. I hate my Roadrat, the beautifully high quality of finish really winds me up. Thinking of getting a Soul so I can be really miserable.

Ah, I wondered if that was new - I'm not very observant generally

Mastiles, I'm starting up a new bike company, ICCO bikes - want one (or ten)?

You got it 🙂 I ASSUME it cotic is new anyway - it suddenly smacked me in the face in a cotic subliminal way.

So glad it's not 'clickable'. The left hand margin of the page is my last safe haven for my fat fingers on my laptop mouse pad.

I must be responsible for about 50% of the click throughs from this site...

I don't get it, I love my Soul, and there are plenty of others on here that do too, almost seems to be a daily thread recommending them,

That being the case, and maybe I'm not getting it or something, but I assume cotic has paid a bit of money for all this advertising, surely this isn't the best place for it??

If when cy reads this, he agrees and pulls his advertising, I take no responsibility for the loss of income to stw 😯 , but more importantly could I get one of the new cross bikes as reward for all the money I saved you??? 😉

(The proof the advertising is working is this thread ; ] Thanks very much. Matt ad manager and occasional Mod).

So not just as I'm on a bigger screen then, although could be that as well, came down stairs for some brekkie having been lying in bed with the laptop and hit in the face by the Cotic borders.

Seems the bigger the screen/window the more Cotic you get, big screen, more money to spend, shout a little louder. See what you did there 🙂

I was dreading this on my big screen at home. Thankfully it's now gone. Not really relevant to me, I bought my Soul on the strength of trying a mate's, who'd bought his second hand cos he needed a bike fast after his was in a torched van. So I can honestly say that not one penny of Cotic's marketing might influenced the purchase of my or his cotics 😀

(And clearly the bloke who sold his to him thought it was rubbish 😉 )

Oh come on, it's not really that bad is it?

Light grey on slightly-darker light grey. It's hardly in your face.

Doesn't bother me at all to be honest, In fact I'm quite intrigued by these ICCOTs (or is it TICCO?)

do you have astigmatism takisawa2?

I spent a large part of my youth pretending I could see 'hidden images' in those weird pictures everyone used to get as I could never, ever, see them and felt embarassed.

I found out last year they don't work if you have an astigmatism in either eye.

barry, if like me you are using firefox, get rid of the sidebar and you might see a grey border. then ctrl+scroll untill the text on the forum makes your eyes hurt and you might be able to read it.

wierd how it vanishes due to the sidebar.

Oddly, yes. My PC isn't exactly crappy but while the ad is visible it noticably affects scrolling on STW. Make the window smaller and it's all good again.

And the same here as well (Firefox and XP).

Luckily I already own a Cotic so I don't actually need to see the ad.

"get the poor mans alternative an Orange P7 "
The RRP is £450 this year! A Cotic Soul is £470 inc. seat collar, chainstay protector and delivery, and I think lighter? I'd say a P7 was more expensive

Also, despite reading this thread yesterday, I've only just seen the Cotic sidebars ..

While STW towers is aware adblocking goes on i think they might take offence at posting something quite so overt.

Appears here whether I have a sidebar or not. Can't see why the sidebar would affect it or do you just mean that when the sidebar is open that the screen is to narrow to require any background padding?

That would depend on the size of your monitor. I'm on a wide-screen monitor at work and the actual forum'y bit is only about a third of the screen - the rest is all background.

Note to STW web staff:

You have two backgrounds overlayed on top of each other.

You have [img] [/img] mainbackground.gif on body

And then you overlay
[img] [/img] inwrapcotic.gif on the #inwrap div.

I suspect that may be why some people are reporting weird scrolling.

I suspect that may be why some people are reporting weird scrolling.

I know we have them on top of each other. This morning I tried it by applying it to <body> but future adverts will use transparency over the <body> background. The user I had confab with still reported the same issue.

Besides, placing one background over the top of another should have no issues at all. Just like the header is #div with a background, on top of #wrapstar, which is on top of <body>.

Don't full-screen all your windows then! Nothing looks worse than a normal webpage all lonely in the middle of a window blatted all over a massive monitor surrounded by whitespace or worse, background.

Hmm.. oh well, I thought it might if one background is set to scroll and the one on top is fixed (like cotic).

But I don't see the issue here, so can't really try it out. 🙂

Don't full-screen all your windows then!

Some of the sites on other tabs benefit from being full width, including our intranet site. I can't really be bother resizing my browser window every time I change tab.

my post about the element causing the scrolling problem has been pulled.

very grown up.

What if someone stopped coming here because of the scrolling issue caused by one ad? What do you say to the other ad buyers? If inwrapcotic.gif is causing the problem, why should Mr CRC lose page views?
