Is it really the case the only contact method via classifieds is the forum direct message service?
Seen a bike I am interested in but no contact details other than forum DM? And no response to DM's...
That's about it. You can reply to the post but if the user doesn't have notifications on it won't really help. Some people have an email in their profile but it's pretty rare.
A direct message to me results in an email informing me of said message. Pretty sure that’s standard here. It may be that the item is sold, I’ve chased adverts to be told that they’d been sold a while ago, seller just too lazy to mark as “sold”!
It's very hit and miss. I have to come here and check if I've had dm's, I don't get notified. The only way of seeing replies to an ad is to visit the ad.
So I've learned to be patient when buying and selling on single-track.
I expect a day or so delay between each exchange, and usually give out my email when responding to sales queries.
