Hi all

I have a pretty complicated glass roof that needs a clean, is it best to leave it to a window cleaner or do people buy extendable brushes? I wont reach all with a brush from ground level so probably will need to balance on ladders etc but not sure how to go about it

Ta

We have a windowcleaner that does the uprights but not the roof. Every year I try to give the framework a once-over but it never seems to come up as new-black streaks are a pain. This year I did the glass roof-nightmare! My roof fans out from the ridge like wheel spokes-looks great but----. Even with an extending car-wash brush it was hard to reach all areas because you can't get any pressure behind it-even tried getting at it from a bedroom window but access is incredibly difficult.I'm sure there must be specialist companies out there who would have the right equipment,it would be worth a few quid to avoid the pain.

There are loads of specialists yes, but i am wary of them using pressure washers on it

Borrowed 3x builders trestles and 4x scaffold planks to make access easier, when I had to clean the roof on the one at the last house. Was a quite straight forward single ridge and four hips roof so no nasty tight pointy corners to have to get into.

Sounds like the window cleaner is your best option if your unsure

I have been up there (wearing climbing shoes makes it easier!) but obviously once you get it wet its an ice field!
