'aux' on back of amp has 'left' and 'right' sockets.
ive got a jack from the ipod that splits into red and black pins at the other end. which is left, which is right? or doesnt it matter?

i would say left is black and right is red

The only difference it would make is a reversal of the stereo "image"...

it would be a bit like being on stage facing the audience compared with being in the audience facing the stage.

Red is right, 'cos the connections are usually red and white, but sometimes red and black.
