Hello and Good Evening,

I'm after a complete punters guide to gardening type book, thinking something big ish, lots of pictures, photographs diagrams and simple steps type stuff.

With more of a bias towards vegetables and simple shrubs then really complicated immaculate type stuff.

It's for a present shhhh (Hi Mrs Mugsy....)One difficult thing: we live down near Grenoble where it's not full on south of france provence style, but well let's just say it beats the UK weather hands down so mustn't be too UK centric....Is this even a good idea? willit be too based on english type plants..the vegetable should be fine, except we grow tomatoes outside here :D! English or french language (not that I'm expecting you lot to suggest french books)

Any ideas/ suggestions welocme, as usual it''s last minute birthday shopping!

Cheers Dan

RHS Grow Your Own Kitchen Garden Year

On their website. Your timings will be different - local climate - but it looks like a good starter.
