So given what happened to the innocent Bristol murder suspect Chris Jeffries and possible wrongful conviction reported here I wondered what happens to these poor people when they finally get released, do they get compensated, how on earth do they put their lives back together?

The judicial system is a pantomime, why do you think they wear wigs and capes?

It's not about justice, it about public confidence in a system that is bollocks.

Will these individuals be compensated, how about will anyone face chargee or be jailed for incompetence?

I'm not sure about the Bristol case - he was arrested on suspicion, questioned and then released without charge - seems to me the cops were doing their job

What the press did to the poor guy in the meantime, I think he should be chasing them for some compensation......

it was the press that tried that bristol guy and seeing as they are untouchable and the pcc is a self governing regulator not a hope of seeing justice actually done

The 'popular press' certainly did a number on him. Poor sod, even if he did look a bit odd, he's unemployable forever now

who's going to want to rent that flat off him now? Its tragic how the media try people before the police are done investigating.

Bristol chap wasnt convicted.

People do get compensated for wrongful conviction. Guildford four - not sure the compensation ever compensates for wrongful loss of liberty.

Hang on isn't the Bristol bloke still on bail? They may still be looking at other offences, obstruct police, pervert. I'm not sure but just a thought.

I did think you might have meant that after I posted but I had to rush off to do something unspeakable to a cast-iron radiator wearing only my favourite Cliff Richard mask.
