Taking some down for a stag do.
Cohiba obviously, but what else to consider.

A sliced potato in with the cigars...apparently it stops them drying and going stale/off - it doesn't moisten them but it stops them going funny.

Christ knows, never seen the attraction myself but there were a couple of regulars in the bar I used to work in that used to discuss this...no idea why though, they only smoked Hamlet!

cohiba's are great but pricey - I would go to a cigar shop (don't buy if it hasn't been stored in a proper humidor) and see what they have, may be a cigar from dominica like davidoff will hit the spot. as well as price the taste varies between brands/region

I've bought cigars online from Cigar Connoisseur

http://www.cigar-connoisseur.co.uk/

Fast shipment and good prices. If you're not an experienced cigar smoker, I can recommend H Upmann and Romeo y Julieta. Get the tubed cigars (comes sealed in an aluminium tube) so won't go stale. Montecristos are a bit strong, got quite a kick!

Get yourself a proper cigar cutter too, don't be tempted to do a Clint Eastwood and bite the end off!

Enjoy, it's a good thing to do on a stag do!

Are the cigars for experienced cigar smokers?

There is no point spending lots on cigars for people who won't appreciate them, equally a beginner will haet a strong flavoured cigar. For a beginner something like an H. Unman corona would be good. If you're after a longer smoke then their Sir Winstons are nice. I'm also a fan of Montecristo's edmund, it's stronger than the others though.

I've got a nice Romeo y Juliet Churchill in my humidor I'm saving for a special occasion. Mmmm cigars...

Kimbers you naughty boy!

Couple of mates went to Cuba a few years ago, came back with loads of cigars. Big Cohibas, smaller Monte Christos; apparently they cost bundles over here.

I've got some of WCA's Panatela Slims here if you want?

Check out Regal Cigars store --- here

I've been buying cuban cigars from them for years, really helpful and much cheaper than any other online retailer.

Give them a call, discuss what you need, and they'll see you right.

For people not used to cigars I'd suggest Punch coronations, a nice smooth smoke and not so big that folk get bored.

Go to a proper tabaconist and discuss with the proprietor. You'll get what you want then.

Where can you smoke them nowadays on a stag do that you would enjoy smoking them?

It's a serious question.

If you are away for a stag do then I guess you are staying in a hotel and with the current ban on smoking in public places in force it means you will have to smoke them outdoors which isn't going to be much fun in late March in the UK 😕

Cheers guys, lots to think about. I can get em cheap where I am at the mo, so I'll check the recommendations against what there is available 🙂

Stag do is neR gower, so it'll probably be smokin on the beach.

Play cigars - Villiger. An excellent intro to smoking
Proper cigars, the other Captain above has it pretty much nailed there.

I have a mix in my humidor, mainly Upmann and Romeo Y Julieta, though. A couple of Cohiba Maduros and some Monte No2 in there as well.

Just back from enjoying the odd Villiger in the blazing Alpine sunshine....Goggle tan FTW! 🙂

Cigars? Are they those things that smell like burning shit whenever anyone is smoking one nearby?
Why would you?
