I was talking with a pal, whose wife has ME. Again.

He seemed not to know anything at all about feeding and diet, and had no idea that food could affect how we preform and what's required for a good day out in the hills - for example. It had never occured to him that her condition might be made more bearable if he looked at her food intake!
He and his wife have never experimented with removing certain food stuffs from the diet or looking at what she / they eat.

Has anyone here experience of anything such as the now-retermed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

I have suffered from this in the past. Accupuncture worked for me, but I agree that making sure your diet is 'right' is a key step to any healthy lifestyle.

Yes, I've suffered on and off for over 2 years.
I think the reason diet is important, is that she will have a low immune system. So things like avoiding sugar, eating lots of fruit and veg, keeping hydrated all help in the battle of not catching, coughs, colds, virus's and all the other stuff, that lay people like us really low.

I tried stuff like porridge, honey, wholegrain pasta and rice dishes.
Eating little and often was/is a huge help. As natural a diet as possible, staying away from processed foods, e.g. ready meals.

Doctors don't seem to know alot about this syndrome. It used to be called 'yuppie flu' in the early days.

Overall she must stay de-stressed, get plenty of sleep and do whatever exercise she feels up to doing.
