Hi,

I've got a Nephew (got no kids of my own) who's 13 and I don't know what to buy him for Christmas.

He plays Rugby but I don't know much else. I got him a British Lions shirt for his birthday. I've seen a nice Powerkite for £29.95 - any good?

Any other suggestions?

Ask the parents what he is into....or possible siblings if he has any. As while one 13yr old might love RC cars, another might like xbox and heroin.

...failing that, money in an envelope.

Can't remember the name, but rugby legend Austin Healey now has a kit/lifestyle brand.

Looks nice kit. I'd say worth checking.....

🙂

Any more ideas?

Check with his folks. But maybe bring him to something / an event - maybe something you're into. Bloke time and all that. Rugby international?

A penkife, headphones, ...

If he likes rugby, then get some tickets to a match and take him? International tickets might be too much, but you could get 2 tickets for a decent prem match.

Check out Leicester Tigers site, to get a rough idea of pricing:

skateboard, something he can roll about on with ease rather than a small hard wheel thing. i'd say one of the cheaper penny clones... a penny will set you back 79quid. brighton skateboards, thats a brand of plastic board btw, had some good deals recently. failing that look on ebay.

and also definitely buy him a helmet too.

Raspberry Pi

I was going to suggest an Arduino experiments kit :), almost the perfect age for that stuff if he is interested
eg

Perhaps a rugby base layer? I know a few rugby playing kids and they all wear compression tops - some are made with wind stop fabrics and so on.

If he trains and plays its something he'd use several times a week, probably.
