My local sorting office will be hiring holiday staff to help with the Christmas post.I was thinking of applying. I know the job is very rushed and target-driven,but it does appeal to me.Does anyone here have any experience of this ?

Long hours, boring work, but there's bags of hours available and after your contract term is over, you'll have enough cash to tie you over till the next job. You will be on your feet all day. Just do it. Even if you hate it, 6/7 weeks of work is easy enough.

Give it a go. Did it when I was a student. All money for Christmas.

Prepare to be amazed at the management prowess on the ground. Nights were more exciting than days when I last did it but it's not that exciting.

Tried it for a few hours in the early 1990s. Only lasted a few hours.

Only job I've ever walked out on, and I've done some pretty boring jobs!

Did this as a part time jobs last year, very long hours but not the worse job I've ever done!
