Does anyone have any proper knowledge about what sets different batteries apart?
The AA or AAA ones you get from ikea or home bargains at 10 for a quid Vs proper durcacell ones which are typically 4 for £2.50
Say I was using them for powering a little torch. Using the more expensive ones would I expect the torch to be brighter with brand new batteries or do the better ones just last longer at the same brightness?
I'm confused 😕
They don't seem to advertise their capacity, but the output voltage should be the same, just maybe tails off slower with better quality cells - so probably not brighter, but more longevity.
FWIW Alpkit sell good 'super Duracells' for £3 for 10.
Most of the really cheap batteries are the Zinc rather than the Alkaline based ones, so not really suitable for high power applications.
