There is a lot of good riding on this map for £7. Covers Glencoe to Spean Bridge and all other exciting bits.

Sorry to push Apple products again but...

Granny Smith. Massive bag of them for two quid. Keep me going for desk snacks all week and are way better for me than scoffing Snickers and crisps.

I see your single OS map, and raise it to £20 for a years sub to OS Getamap. Except it cost nothing apart from some supermarket-spy-on-your-shopping-points.

Just got it, so hopefully will be able to create the next 10years worth of riding maps this year.

you didn't get the memo? Marathon Bars are called 'Snickers' now too. I won't tell you about Opel Fruits until you've had a chance to sit down and compose yourself.

This is Mills Observatory. It's an open to the public, free to enter observatory. A council run observatory. Brilliant.

This is the confluence of the rivers Ericht and Isla. I have a fly fishing license that allows me to fly fish on 6 miles of the Isla's banks. It costs £20 a year, which is exceptional, and just as well seeing as I'm such a rubbish fisherman.
[img] [/img]

And this, given how much the licence costs

oh, and this, £19 return on the train, anywhere in Scotland

Oh. I can get a train or bus anywhere in the country for half a day for 2 euros. Even if that's multiple trips in that half day

Spotify.

Keeps me blissfully unaware of the mayhem when the kids get home from school.

Probably the only down side to working from home.... 🙂

Fish is expensive but the chippy down the road from work does sausage, chips, mushy peas and a can of pop for £2.95, which is a bargin.

Spotify.

Agreed. It's the only thing that gets me through marking coursework; and a tenner a month is a bargain to not have to hear the bloody Hive heating advert.

..and watching these chaps at play is free (although tide tables and a decent pair of bins help). Or a £10 boat trip, and they sometimes come and play with the boat.

Pretty much every museum in Paris, the first Sunday of each month entry is free. Also under a euro for delicious bread. Almost makes up for the ridiculous beer prices. Almost.

British Museum, V&A museum, Science Museum, Tate, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool, Royal Academy, Natural History Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Imperial War Museum, City Art Gallery Manchester, Kelvingrove Gallery Glasgow, Laing Gallery Newcastle, The Baltic Gallery Newcastle. I've visited them all, and never paid a penny for entrance. I'd say that's good value.

Yeah, but the grumble specifically is a big improvement on a soggy copy of Razzle you found in a hedge, and therefore worth a special mention 😆

Cod and chips at my old local chippy was £3.50 for a big bit of cod and more chips than I could eat without straying into self harm territory. And the chips were actually good chips.

Thus filling the holy triumvirate of "cheap", "good", and "plentiful".

I've never found as good a chip shop anywhere else.

I'm almost certain it was actually a mafia money laundering outfit.

Sainsburys Basics microwave meals, specifically the lasagne and the bolognese pasta bake. 75p each, British beef and genuinely no crap. Awesome.

The first beer of the evening, slipping over your tongue and down your throat. (it's the later ones that are expensive).

Feeling a lady's boob. (Actually, feeling a lass's boob - even better if she's not a lady )

Tomatoes, even really good ones are just a couple of quid for half a dozen and probably the best food ever. Bananas, tasty loads of energy they come half way round the world and still cost les than a pound for a bunch.
