Has anyone paid and downloaded MS Office through one of the many websites advertising cheap prices - recommendation would be handy.
Software4students.
just use open office, within a week you will have learnt the differences and you wont be using dodgy software. We use it at work, its great.
just remember open office files opened in real office will have screwed up formatting - wrote my honours project TWICE due to this
not so bad any more matey. We use it commercially and dont have any major problems.
I need Visio, or something compatible
Unfortunately the SME where I am want/need full MS Office capability, plus obviously any cash saving is always handy.

Smartdraw is a good alternative to Visio:

Including the n-turns-to-b virus. Awful.

Proper big discounts, and the site is either Microsoft-owned or a MS partner (I can't remember) so it's legit. All you need to qualify is a .ac.uk email address IIRC.
NHS employees with an NHS.net e mail address can get Office (for windows or Mac) for about £18 - one of the great bargains. Doesn't include visio though I believe 😥

mmmmmm pdf is great - although i had to submit electronic copy in a word format .........
Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V would have saved you a hell of a lot of bother. As would export as .doc... 😉 I use pages on the mac which is way better than anything else I've come across.
Download office 2010 demo and use for 2 months should give you time to decide.
Check if your company has a "Home Use Programme", it's often available where the compny's licensing is done via an Enterprise Agreement - that's what the NHS deal referred to above will be linked with.
