Metanium cream for nappy rash works brilliantly.

Have you tried different shorts or saddles?

I picked up something from a medical rep at the RCN Congress the other week which might be able to help alleviate the effects of your chaffage. Its called Aripro and you can get a free sample off their site.

I play ice hockey and got a little chaffed in the same area the other day so gave it a try and it worked really well.

In contrast to your earlier thread, ride bottomless? Let the air circulate.

I used to get a bit of this problem too. I now only wear crotchless shorts and pop a Viagra twenty minutes before I ride. Keeps the gentleman's gentleman nicely up out of the way. On all day rides I carry an extra pill for top ups. Bonus is I can carry a rain jacket without having to carry a bag or panniers.

wrap it round your waist, not tuck it down a trouser leg.

works for me.

Of course if you ride at altitude the vasodilatory effects of Sildenafil (Viagra) has been shown in some studies to be of benefit to your respiration also.

Not sure how hard and fast it is though as a rule.

I've never had chaffage, but it does sometimes snag on the front mech.

Not sure how hard and fast it is though as a rule.

With Viagra, I would have thought that the rule is generally very hard and very fast.

Not as funny as bleeding from your insides once a month emsz.

Or having to use the cubicles.

Or not being able to strip off in the beer garden.

Or getting bruised 'lips'

A chaffed willy is funny but bruised lady bits somehow feels like a post too far?

/helpful post/

I find chamois creme helps heal up bruised or chaffed lady bits so it might work for you? *the things you learn when touring for a month*

New shorts might help if you've had the ones you've got for a while.

I can find that old (and therefore saggy) shorts cause this. Newer tighter shorts mean that things cant move about and therefore no chaffage

I would suggest it's down to positioning - point him up instead of down? Does leave little to the imagination when off the bike though 😯

Managed to get a very chafed scrotum on a long run the other week, not pleasant 🙁

Cheers, Rich

Was wearing new shorts.

I have a feeling it's the saddle on a particular bike.

Btw the worst is if you've had a shave and there a bit of stubble... Talk about rash..lol

* proper helpful advice 🙂

LOL... this is more like it.

Ro5ey... I'm not going to 'stand down' it's just that I've already explained away a love bite on my neck this week because of a wetsuit... now I've got a similar mark down there...

I recently stopped wearing chamois shorts for another issue in that general postcode area and it helped massively.

Oddly when trying a chamois again i was struck with numbness and chaffage which i hadn't had before.

Anyway, hanging loose and natural seems to be the best way for me.

I am glad i shared this...

I wanted to raise the profile of this debilitating condition.

It's hard knowing you're suffering on your own so I thought I'd share with you guys.
