We have had this cat for around 8 years, there is nothing new in the flat to scare her, no changes have been made to her litter arrangements (kept very clean, well hidden etc) yet for the last few weeks she's been leaving us presents behind the TV once every few days.
She is an indoor cat by the way (not my choice)
All things otherwise are normal and she's eating just fine.
We think she's around 14 or maybe older, could this be it?
Did you get her from Quirrel?
I don't see how a new TV would help
Could well be age. Mine went the same way, she was 18 when I had to have her put to sleep. I think mobility issues played a large part.
Might be worth a vet trip, get her checked over?
Worth making sure the area is properly scrubbed to remove any traces; cats are habitual, if that spot smells like her new toilet she'll keep using it. Maybe stick a second litter tray there?
Maybe it's a dirty protest against strange hat choices...
Cat dementia? Our old cat had it and every now and again we would find that he'd done the toilet in the wrong place
Flat screen tv bolted to the wall?
Cat wants a 4k TV.. Sick of watching that black and white thing
Jess?
Better than all the shit ON the bloody TV!
Strange, our 17yr old cat has started doing this too, either behind the TV or in the bath!!!he hates going outside now despite being mainly outside all his life.We think he has dementia.
Yes our cat c/a 18 years old is the same too
- she's now taken to hiding behind the sofa as well unless the room has somone she knows in it
When ours used to do this I changed the speaker cables form white to brown as the cat sh1t was staining the white ones 🙁
Ours did similar when she got to about that age, she's 18 now and stopped shitting everywhere, but that's probably because she eats bugger all nowadays!! She does piss a lot as she drinks so much water due to kidney issues.
She's a strongun though and refuses to die, despite a few recent ops.
Stick another litter tray under there.
It'll be like having a whole new specialist channel available.
we have an almost 19 year old indoor cat, that chooses to crimp one off wherever she likes randomly, despite having a clean litter tray. she eats like a trooper too. and pukes it at various choice locations. Stubborn little ****er keeps on truckin though. she's outlived two other cats we've had
Our 10 year old randomly uses our bathroom as a toilet if he feels like it and the door is left open.
Otherwise he goes outside.
He'll have an accident soon if he carries on using the bath for not what it was designed for.
Cats are weird. I had a flatmate whose cat would pee on the bed if anybody fell out with her. How are you and the wife getting on ?
