[#7919753]

Ive got a sony av reciever and some good 5.1 surround sound speakers. Due to the wifes new desire for a tv unit they have had to go.
How much are cash convertors likely to rip me off for an easy sale? Guessing cex wouldnt be interested?

You can check what price CEX will give you on their website.

Check eBay for a rough idea what they're worth and CC will offer you about half or a third of that amount.
Gumtree maybe?

I'd eBay for collection and let the markets decide. That way you don't have to get off your arse.

+1 for ebay, the stuff in store is rarely much more than it's be on ebay, so they must be buying it in considerably cheaper.

Long story cougar. In brief.
Wifes wants new tv unit.
Buys new tv unit with out checking any measurements or asking me.
Tv unit turns up. I build it. Av reciever is too big for shelf in tv unit.
Puts av reciever under unit.
Looks horrible.
Buys soundbar.
Has to remove brilliant home stereo for crap sounding soundbar.
Wife happy
Me. Peed off

Get a new unit.
Or put the AV receiver somewhere else and run wires in a conduit.

(i did that in our rented place. AV stuff was in a cupboard half way round the room. Getting the wires in the conduit was fun. 5.1 and an HDMI IIRC.)

Cant modify the unit and no where really suitable for av reciever. Will consider swapping the hormonal wife for 10spd chain and cassette

For the cost of a few slabs and a fleshlight you could just put the old unit back in and everyone* is happy.

*still capable of being so
