There is a Campsite in Samoens, over the other side of the mountain, Col do Jeux Plane.

We stayed at a site a few years back on the side of the mountain on the outskirts of Les Gets.

Really nice site with great views of Mont Blanc in the distance, can't remember if it had hook up and it is a 15 minute walk into Les Gets (Down through a number of hairpins), this can be a bit of a trek on the way back at night after too many Mutzigs!

It was reasonably cheap, had some basic tools and workshop area for bike fettling and was the nearest site we found to Morzine and Les Gets.

Google maps link below, if it works. Otherwise google La Grange Au Frene

I can recommend the one in Samoens, Le Giffre caravneige (sp).

I've stayed there a few times summer and winter. In summer you get free passes to the local swimming pool as well. Don't forget your budgie smugglers!!

Obviously it's not Morzine, but not that far away and the summer route from Samoens to MOrzie is a great drive/ride (i haven't cycled it, yet!!), and Samoens is beatiful, with some cracking riding.

Thanks for your replys, we stayed in a chalet last year in Morzine whcih gave us some base knowledge of the area. Not big on lifts to blast down to DH runs only to do it all over again which is fun but realy want to build on our XC rides in the area.
