Thinking about looking at the British car auctions for another car, anyone had good results from buying at an auction .. or other experiences ?
looking at spending about 3.5k ... mid size .. focus, astra, megane etc

I did the same about three years ago. No problem targeted ex lease car and only paid what I had in budget.

I suggest going up and watching a couple of auctions before going live.

If its for yourself you'll always be prepared to outbid traders, but odnt get too caught up in the excitment of bidding.

Speak to the driver as they drive the cars in. Its amazing what you can tell just from asking a few questions.

I used to work for a car auctions. ( Not BCA )

Good advice from supertacky there. You can check which cars are coming up for sale on the BCA website, but you'll need to register & login to view the sale catalogues (it's free to do this).

Set yourself a budget & stick to it! Be aware that there is a 'buyers premium' that is a percentage of the 'hammer price' & this will be added to the price you pay, so factor that in too.

Lots of useful buyers info on the BCA website too.
