I need a new compact. My Lumix TZ10 has a scratch on the lens (caused by a badly designed shutter). £70+ to repair, so not worth it.
The IXUS 500 HS is £80 at Argos, but Canon list it at around £200 - weird. Seems too good to be true.
Has anyone used one? I'm after something that will shoot in low light , has a decent burst mode and will take good landscapes (for a compact...).
I've also heard that it is very susceptible to rain, is that true?
cheers
Not tried that Ixus, but had several other. They're fine in bright light, but as with all small sensor, high resolution sensors, pretty crap at night.
I'm a long-standing fan of the IXUS range; not seen that specific one, but they're generally ace.
