Hi

Im off to Vancouver/Whistler next week

I 'need' some new riding glasses and if they are cheaper there then Id kick myself if I got them here

The prob is Im not sure if Im looking at official list prices on Cannuck websites
What I mean is most shops over here sell at list but Steptoes etc sell at a good discount

So if anyone can give me a website of a shop in Vancouver or Whistle selling bike stuff at good prices Id be able to make a decision

Cheers

probably just as well using steptoes, the prices you will see for here will be less tax too.

Tbh, when I was in Vancouver, I didn't see a single thing that made me think "wow, that's cheap". And remember the exchange rate is dire at the moment. And don't even think of buying anything in Whistler itself. Everything, and I mean everything is expensive there. There are supposedly good outdoor outlets in Van itself but, in general, it's not a cheap place for shopping.

I would say general clothes are a bit cheaper, for example i bought a pair of volcom jeans here before xmas, no sale or anything for 70 bucks then paid 40 for a pair of next jeans back home, hmmmm, but bike stuff is much the same and often the best deals here are still on chain reaction.

On the subject of Oakleys (sorry for the threadjack):
Did you see Larnce's retro shades in his post-stage interviews on, erm, Monday or Tuesday.
I want some - what were they? Where can I get some?

Will see if I can dig out a pic.

I'm in Vancovuer and have bought a couple pair of Oakleys here.
Price is about the same as suggested retail in U.S. (not sure about suggested retail in UK).
Only site I could find was
http://labiciclettaproshop.com/sitesearch.cfm?contenttype=0
Remember, you'll pay 5% tax on top of that.
We do have a good co-op that sells bike stuff cheap tho.
