You scored 14 out of a possible 24

You have failed, the pass mark was 75% According to the Life in the UK Test, you have insufficient knowledge of the English language or of life in the UK to remain

Oh well, the UK is over rated anyway...

Just 12 for me, but I left 3 years ago anyway.

WTF is there a question about Halloween, that's the time of year to be plotting to blow up parliament.

5 out of 24.

It was a complete guessing game for nearly all the questions. Oh well

Well, it would at least help if the test had the correct answers

21. Who is the monarch not allowed to marry?

Correct answer: Anyone who is not a Protestant

Which is wrong - none of the options were correct - the monarch can marry anyone except a catholic, clearly enshrined in the 1689 Bill of Rights!
And whereas it hath been found by experience
that it is inconsistent with the safety and welfare of this Protestant kingdom to be governed by a popish prince, or by any king or queen marrying a papist, the said Lords Spiritual and Temporal and Commons do further pray that it may be enacted, that all and every person and persons that is, are or shall be reconciled to or shall hold communion with the see or Church of Rome, or shall profess the popish religion, or shall marry a papist, shall be excluded and be for ever incapable to inherit, possess or enjoy the crown

Nothing about not being protestant, entirely limited to forbidding Catholics!

Harumph!

13 here. WTF have most of those questions got to do with living a normal, legal life in the UK?

Worse than trivial pursuit (in that with TP at least some of the facts are interesting)!

It does say "Questions taken from" so I presume they've picked a few super hard ones from the many easier, more relevant ones?

I failed drastically... And the questions were a million miles away from achieving the supposed purpose.

Also, they got at least one wrong...

"Is the statement below TRUE or FALSE: you can attend a hospital without a GP's letter only in the case of an emergency"

Apparently this is true- but that's rubbish, there's walk-in minor injuries centres at loads of hospitals. And if I want to get my leg checked out I speak to my consultant, not my GP, even though I've been discharged.

11! At least I'm a bloody foreigner so I dont feel so bad whilst I get kicked out!

I have no idea though what ones I got right?

Problem is that this test is actually quite an embarrassing representation of the view that "the establishment" has not only of potential immigrants but of the majority of the country's current population.

It really is a representation of the attitude that made me start looking at moving away.

50% here. Always wanted to leave, now it's official that we must go. Fantastic.

Mind you, if the Grauniad's JavaScript's as good as their spelling this is not to be trusted... Although I badly want to believe that we MUST go.

How do you know ?.......the guy that set the questions might have been a UKIP member. With a wicked sense of humour.

15-but the questions really are a load of nonesense
i would be surprised if anyone can pass this without learning first so it is hardly a test of being British

I've seen some of the current(ish) questions as an ex-colleague of mine's girlfriend was applying for citizenship and I thought the questions were tough.

Well the stated purpose Northwind, was to make it more difficult. I think they have probably succeeded.
