Hello all..... as per the title really - can anyone recommend a decent wedding band in the Guildford area?

The usual wedding fayre, but apparently having a fiddle player is desirable 🙄

Also, what seems to be the going rate?

Both based in Alton. Both great party bands.

We used http://www.barndance.co.uk/ for our wedding. Very happy with them, were a great bunch and everyone really enjoyed it. They travel all over the place.

We had a ceilidh band at our wedding - great fun. Cost about £400 or £500 for the evening, for five guys (fiddle, accordian, guitar, something else, and all important man to get everybody joining in).

bigredass is more than safe. Ok, they are not the prettiest bunch but they are a ligit festival ska band and all lovely people.

I'd recommend The Hares. They're based in London but will travel (to Cheltenham in the case of our wedding). Bonus is that they often play gigs in Wimbledon/Wandsworth/Clapham so you get to hear them first.

400-500 for a whole band and caller?!

You'd be looking at close to that per band member in any function band that I've been in!
