Obviously this isn't feesible in many situations as there may be no other option than for a lorry to use a particular lane but I see lorries cutting through the N.Downs on lanes that so narrow that the lorry takes up the whole lane and the passing places are barely wide enough to allow a car to pass and not another lorry. Watching a lorry pass some cars yesterday it had to go up onto the bank damaging it and smashing into branches which removed part of the top corner of his box. It's just so annoying grrr....!

Big increase of oversized lorries in the lanes around here since the advent of SatNav.

Weight and width restrictions can be into effect on certain roads.

Yes they can, a road close to me (B3145) has a HGV restriction and it does seem to be observed.

It seems minor roads in the Cotwolds are being restricted too See Here

yes, swatrkestone bridge has a weight limit (think narrow, elevated coutry lane)

unfortunately its ignored by most british drivers, and foreign ones reverse back up the hill pisisg everyone off even more!

add to that the enforcement camera gets vandalised every so often.
