We're looking to take my mum away on a holiday to the Lakes for her 60th in April with all her grandkids etc. Just co-incidental that there will be great biking on the doorstep 😉

We're looking for a nice house or cottage somewhere, preferably in the south - with at least 5 rooms. A pool would be nice too!

Anyone got any recommendations?

K

Shameless plug for my brother-in-law and sister's place in Ambleside:-

No pool, but they do have a massive lawn and paddock for the grandkids to run around 🙂

Just got back from this place in Hawkshead - Grizedale on doorstep.

Really nice, aga/ log fires, bike storage but may be small for you.

Heart of the Lakes are another company that we've been with. They do complimentary health club membership (Low Wood or Langdale Country Club), so you get the pool facility.

We came across this traditional hotel in summer 09 and it had just been refurbished. Tucked away in a beautiful setting overlooking Eltemere lake, with a great bar/restarant and very good decor. They were doing a double room with B&B for £50 a night.
