Just had the genius brainwave that my lad might like one for Xmas, was looking at the airhogs version for £60, is there anything superior for a similar price? Not expecting anything super spectacular but don’t want to spend anymore as there’s every chance it could be well knackered before New Year’s Eve!!!
DJI Tello for just a little bit more. He'll need a smartphone unless you spend a bit more for a controller too. There is an educational coding version too it if you want it. That's a bit more again, but would be my choice. Supposedly sold as a bit of a loss leader by DJI to get people hooked and into their brand so they buy their more premium/capable drones at later date. So great vfm and good performance for the price in comparison to the toy brands for whom this is the best they do.

We bought a tello for 13 yr olds birthday - it does everything he wanted, but he still doesn't use it much........
Suspect I’ll end up playing with it more than he does😁
