climate control is not very effective when it is hot and £400 to replace the parts to make it slightly more effective is not economical given the cars value. Does anyone use a simple 12v fan that is reasonably effective, had a quick look and there are many out there but rather than going on trial and error just wondered if anyone uses one that helps to keep them cool.

Those little fans are no better than just pointing the vents in the dash at your face, maybe worse as they just move the inside warm air about while the vents will bring in air from outside
Your only options are either pony up to fix the air con or open the windows..
