Hello, I'm thinking about a spontaneous ride to the peaks this coming week. I'm looking for a cheap campsite, kind of central. I'm thinking Tideswell area. I'll be riding there on my bike and just want to spend a few days doing local rides and going up se hills, all on road. By cheap I mean sub £10 I don't need anything fancy, I'm just a bloke a bike and a tent. If you could throw some recommendations that would be much appreciated thank you. Craig.
Hardhurst Farm near Hope is our usual go-to campsite in the Peak. Not too expensive. Facilities are basic but fine.
I'd be inclined to go further north, i.e. Hope if you're wanting to do classic Peak Mountain Biking
We stayed at Dale Farm which was pretty good.
Barracks Farm, just south of Hartington is a good, out of the way, cheap campsite (field + some toilets)
As Yak says Hardhurst Farm is a good no-frills site. Has a good on-site cafe so you can grab something hot for breakfast or pig out on a full fryup.
There's also Fieldhead Campsite in Edale which is a field and some showers if I remember rightly.
Places that allow DoE usually do per person prices. In the central bit Mandale Farm near Over Haddon and Monyash is relaxed and walkable to pubs. Was coin pay for hot water, not sure with covid if that's changed.
I’m stopping at five acres campsite near Wardlow this weekend. Fairly basic but not as cheap as you’re hoping, about £20 a night from memory. I’d be surprised if you find anything for £10 this summer.
Should have said that Pindale Farm just outside Hope is very cheap and pay on arrival from memory so may be worth considering.
North Lees campsite in Hathersage?
May be a bit midgey depending on the weather, but fairly convenient for Ladybower etc...

Job's a good'un,booked in at Mandale Farm, sunshine and no wind also reserved. Thanks for all the suggestions. A nice 170+ km cycle awaits.
Bit further North but the Eric Byne campsite near Chatsworth is good if very basic (toilet, tap, field is all you get) but well in budget.
The big advantage is you can only walk or ride there so no cars etc. and it's only 10 minutes walk to the Robin Hood where you can spend the cash you saved on an overpopulated field on a pint.

Waterside Farm Campsite - Barber Booth Road Edale is fine and a short walk to Edale for pubs
If you want to use a pub for tea do book ahead. About 30 mins in either direction to walk.
