Can you recommend me a book/website/videos for learning a bit of CSS?
I'm doing a few Wordpress sites at the moment but would to have more control over the way it looks.

Hmmm seems a bit OTT to me, there are plenty of perfectly good third party WP plugins out there.
To answer the OP, I've always liked the wrox CSS books and the w3schools site is good for checking standards compliance http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
