During my son's computer science practical exam today and some of the questions involved maths stuff.

He wrote himself one in Java during the exam.

Does this count as cheating?

Bonus points in my opinion!

Showing my age slightly, but I went into a mock English exam many moons ago with my new fangled Casio calculator watch and had a grumpy old teacher scrawl "using calculator" all over the exam paper... ๐Ÿ™„

(Ok, not a bug. But my inner Java geek loved it and had to share).

I'm good at mental arithmetic and have an uncanny ability to eyeball our shopping and guess the cost to within 1 pound, but an abacus is about as useful in the modern world as a horsecharge in the d-day landings.

All that abacus is going to teach those kids, is how to haggle quicker at market stalls.
