Just coming to the end of a 5 week stint in the UK - and the weather here has been bonkers! 2 weeks ago it was too hot to think straight and this week its wet and windy!

Mrs Spekkie says that back home they're still enjoying the "too hot to think straight" weather so I'm looking forward to lots of riding and swimming when I get home. And maybe a bit of building work 🙂

Fast dry trails for ridin', cool rivers for swimmin' and good food for eatin' -......

It is a bit hot mind you

After weeks of intense heat, today it finally rained for 10 minutes, which was nice!

Boltaña village is currently in the middle of a fortnight of summer fiestas and the town is heaving with people. It's good to see all the local bars and cafes making money - balances out with the much quieter winter period when it's really only the locals here.

Sadly last nights festivities were cancelled mid afternoon after the unexpected death of a much loved and respected local man who suffered a heart attack just as he was about to ring the church bells for Sunday mass. His wife, Maria Jose, works in the tourist office here in town and, like him, is known by everyone for miles around.

Life goes on of course, but with some sympathy and consideration for Maria and the family.

Will have to get to Ainsa before the end of the season. We passed thru end of March, campsite shut so we kept going. I miss it if I don't get to ZZ at least once a season

Crossing the Rio Ara just outside Boltaña towards the end of my ride last night - this was around 8:45pm I guess.

Ainsa is away in the background....
