MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Anyone else going to be watching this ?
Looks good from the trailers and it has David Morrissey in it who played the Governor in the Walking Dead ...
I’m going to give it a swing - Ive read I can stream them all on NowTV, but I’ve learned that doesn’t mean they’re all available now.
All the episodes available on demand already, no need to wait!
Didn't realise that ..
Well... It's dreadful.
Well... It's dreadful.
That does seem likely, and the trailer I've seen is batshit but I'll give it a go anyway.
Agreed, it’s on in the background but I have zoned out. Nonsense.
I love GoT btw.
thay are pinning big things on it. MacKenzie has found his gold it seams.
2\10 from me so far but I'm a history nut
Does seem a bit pish ..but I will stick with it for now ..
Crap .
WTF was that all about, & who was who?
Couple of good lines though. “You’re not mad, you’re just a bastard”. Made me lol 🙂
I'm going to give the series a try but if you want real Roman warfare, sex, gore, politics and grime then watch:
Rome

Superb series.[/b]
Well... It's dreadful.
Yup, pish.
I was hoping it was going to be enjoyably b@t$hit, but it was just rubbish; ropey script, the teenage girl was just dreadful, the local tribe in their 'citadel' when they'd have been living wooden lodges (I know it's not a history documentary, but come on...)
And it looked cheap.
it was probably pretty expensive to make, but then people are comparing it to GoT so yeah, it looked cheap 🙂And it looked cheap.
I thought it was OK, not great but certainly watchable. Thought Zoe Wanamaker was good, as was the guy who played the possessed druid. David Morrissey was actually the big disappointment for me, basically playing the exact same role as The Governor in TWD, where he was the perfect charming psychopath... didn't work for me here for some reason.
Script was a bit... unusual... the way everyone talks like they're down the pub or something. Suppose it's different to most historical/fantasy stuff where everyone is a bit po-faced & takes it all too seriously!
It's obviously aiming to be different to GoT, what with all the trippy stuff. Will watch out the series to see where it goes, won't be amazed if it doesn't get renewed though!
it was probably pretty expensive to make
No doubt, but it looked cheap, and not just in relation to GoT. In fact, it looked cheap in relation to The Last Kingdom, and the 'not exactly spendy' BBC made that
Thought Zoe Wanamaker was good
She had one line. And she said it like Zoe Wanamaker, who always plays Zoe Wanamaker.
They let her say a bit more in the later eps 🙂
Title music was a strange choice.
Is that place with the pointy spire rocks where the druids live actually in Britain?
The tribe of king whatsisface seem to live in a quarry
Thought Morrissey was good,
6/10 from me, but mrs fell asleep
Off to the underworld now, get high, do a tombstone, no problem
I read an interview where the writer explained that Donovan's music (and that song in particular) has been a long-time influence on his work.Title music was a strange choice.
The Hurdy Gurdy Man ..Donovan.
I thought it was a good music choice ..in a kind of freaky far out hallucinogenic druid sort of way 8)
I enjoyed it, total tosh but good fun 😀
Even saw the burnt out settlment before it was burnt down. It was filmed by Nash point lighthouse. Security guy said it had been built to be burned down for a Sky show. I thought it would be GOT but never saw it. Then it appears in Brittania, I was strangley pleased 😆
I watched Ep1 and thought it was pretty good. will watch a couple more to see what occurs
Just watched ep2 ..its warming up .
It was just terrible!!
Episode 4 story is better but the red head princess is stunning.
Correct , lake Eden , Above suspicion are both worth watching .
Is that place with the pointy spire rocks where the druids live actually in Britain?
No, not sure exactly where but there are places like that in the Czech Republic and I think other spots in Eastern Europe.
...disappointing. Probably watchable if expectations are set low enough. The writing's not very good: a character mutters under his breath "that's what I wanted her to do..." In a half decent drama you'd see that without the character having to tell you. Hey ho.
Anyway Mackenzie looking good without makeup. Rhind Tutt looking like he's realising he's made a mistake...
As a bit of light entertainment ..and having now watched all episodes ..I really enjoyed it .
Left wide open for a follow up series ...
I fell asleep a couple of times in episode 1 but may watch the rest, if it really does get better...
Don't go looking for it to be historically correct..its really quite humorous in parts..just accept it for what it is and try not to be eating a meal while watching ...
Watched the series. Now disappointed on three levels.
No conclusion just a rubbish cliffhanger. No series 2 so the cliffhanger will never be resolved.
OHI...what is the third level ..or are you also leaving us in suspense ?
Couldn’t quite believe how crap this was. Turned off after about 15 mins.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen David Morrissey in anything good, but this takes the biscuit.
Bourbon?
I quite liked it, got rather into it. It takes a while to get going admittedly but Ep 6-9 are very good and the characters were beginning to get a bit more fleshed out. I like the occasional flashes of hunour from the shaman guy that come through.
No series 2 so the cliffhanger will never be resolved.
News is that there is no news on whether it's being renewed or cancelled. I'd watch another series though and it was left wide open for a follow up.
I've seen worse. You just have to roll with the fact that it's completely barking and it's quite enjoyable.
There's an interestingly diverse British landscape on display.
OTOH that was one of the least satisfying non-conclusions I've seen in a while.
