Just announced on Radio 6. Currently listening to the national anthem, bit surreal.

He'd be annoyed at just missing out on that telegram.

I feel sorry for any family who loses a loved one, and this is no exception. For anyone to lose their partner of 74 years is immense loss.

But its ruining my Radio 6 listening for the day.

When I heard the words "The BBC is interrupting it's scheduled programming to make the following announcement" I had my fingers crossed for an alien invasion.

I'll have to settle for this.

Damn, was hoping he'd make it to get the letter from Lizzy. Going to miss his random gaffes and the legacy he leaves through the Duke of Edinburgh Award will live on.

Public holiday soon? He's allowed a state funeral I think too.

RIP - a great innings and working till his late 90's. But it will be interesting seeing the tensions between Prince Harry and Meghan Markel and the rest of the Royal Family at the funeral!

Very sad loss for the Queen - losing a partner will never be easy.

Interesting conundrum for the Royal family though - hold a full bore royal funeral to which I'd argue he is perfectly entitled too. However how would that fit within the current covid world we live in with social distancing / no big gatherings etc?

A state funeral with only 30 people will be interesting.

No doubt his faults will be picked over, but the DofE award is an amazing legacy

Indeed. Old man dies after very long and unbelievably privileged life. Condolences to the family and all that but cancelling all programmes for this?

Yes surreal, I'm not a Royalist in any way, I'm not even a patriot, the very idea has always been odd to me. This shouldn't mean any more or less to me than any other passing of a elderly person at the end of their life, but somehow it does. I'm important to me, but I can't offer a rational reason why.

RIP Prince Philip, aka Phil the Greek, aka The Casual Racist.

I’m not a Royalist in any way. This doesn’t mean any more or less to me than any other passing of a elderly person at the end of their life, who I don’t know and doesn’t appear that likeable anyway.

RIP Prince Philip, aka Phil the Greek, aka The Casual Racist.

Thanks for saving me some typing P-Jay

No it won’t.

It'll give De Pfeffel an opportunity to push the rioting in NI further down the news agenda, though.

It will also give him an opportunity to have a crack at a tribute act to Blair's 'Queen of Hearts' effort. With more than a casual nod to our less progressive era.

I'll be needing collate all the buckets we own to try to contain all the icky sick.🤮

Crikey, why does it feel surreal?

Well, if nothing else, it's led to things like...

Can we have MAH back now, please.

...which no-one would have ever expected hearing or asking before.

I just had to check this. I can't believe it, what a load of bollocks. Fortunately the Freeview channels between ~15 and 100 are still showing Heartbeat and Life in the Country.

EDIT just tuned into Six Music to experience this first hand. Hoollleeee shit. You gotta love the 'Sincerity of the Royal Correspondent' though.
