and the fact than in ROADWORKS there are ROADWORKS going on hence less lanes available than usual has nothing to do with it?! 🤣Ever been on a busy motorway for an extended section of 50mph roadworks?
Every vehicle can do 50, you all travel as one big rolling road block
Not necessarily.
Unless you think the vaccine is going to stop SARS-COV-19 first
Either way the risk of people outside without masks is many times less than the risk of people inside. Add to that the risk that most kids won't even show symptoms and even if they do it will be "just a cold".
The 80mph people only see their angle. It’s something we have to accept in a liberal society even though we don’t like it.
Sorry, but part of my personal covenant with our liberal society is that when people break laws that are intended to protect everyone around them, they should be punished.
Apologies if this makes me sound like a ranting Nazi.
im in kent and our country lane is busier in lockdown now than it was this time last year before all this started.
i know plenty of people who havent changed any of their behaviors from lockdown 1.0 and then have the front to complain we are back in another.

Every vehicle can do 50, you all travel as one big rolling road block which makes it a nightmare to get over for your exit if you are navigating by road signs which typically give you about a mile’s warning of the junction
Rubbish. The M27 is 50mph for miles, has been for a few years and even when busy it flows ok.
I missed my junction the other day, by being a **** in the wrong lane. No other reason. If you're navigating an un familiar m'way by signs and you miss your junction, you're in the wrong lane, pure & simple.

Roadworks are stay in lane though ... whereas I assume the M27 must only have 1 lane that should be used unless someone is going under 50mph.
I live in a tier 3 and have seen loads of non essential travel.
Worst was an ex colleague who traveled to Glasgow from Stirling area to visit a dog swimming pool posting about it on facebbok and insta. Thats right, a swimming pool specifically to allow you to swim with your dog. Must be under "animal welfare" i suppose.
I also see troops of school kids all bunched up in groups at lunchtime.
Yet to see anything properly horrific like a pub open/house party in stirling but there was a rave closed down in Clackmannanshire the other week.
I also feared the announcement of a vaccine would make anyone who was half tempted to not follow regs go the whole hog!

....
At least it wasn't for mustelids

So after they spent the day inside bunched up in a stuffy room and told they can't wear masks what do you expect when they get out in the fresh air.

Full MemberI don’t know what the rules are there but here in Scotland it’s simple enough to become a Certified Covid Officer and then go out cycling with a group of up to 30 riders. I’m not saying that’s a good idea, or that it might not be sending a big “**** you” message to folk. Just saying, it’s possible and permitted.
Is it really as easy as that?
I thought the guidance for 'formal organised activity' indicated that the guidance was aimed at clubs regulated by a national body.

I doubt many kids are prevented from wearing masks, almost everyone I know has reported that schools have masks in use around the site and allow them to be worn in class, most kids dont some do.
suburban south london and I'd say compliance is pretty low, other than a bit of mask wearing. Everywhere is fairly busy and I don't see any differences from last week to this. figures show cases here are falling, but i do wonder if people just don't bother with a test.
Had another think about this last night about 10.30 on the way back from a walk with the gf.
During the day seems to be just as busy as normal, maybe a little less for the rush hours. However, after about 7-7.30pm there seems to be A LOT less cars on the road and people around. Other than the queues for McD/KFC etc obviously...
We've noticed exactly the same thing.

The primary a friend runs has it's Windows open and the heating cranked up precisely to reduce transmission risk. Schools are under colossal pressure. If you're a parent spare them a thought 👍
Having a wife and baby in hospital that we can't visit because of Corona virus restrictions mate be super angry at done of the lackadaisical replies in here. She's Keith herself covid free for the duration of her pregnancy but it's now self isolating in hospital due to a woman in the ward bringing it in. Obviously this was not stupidity but the stupidity of others around definitely contributes to these instances. When you are saying that you will still do what you want as outside doesn't count, bare in mind that I can't see my son until he's a week old, neither can my little boy or daughter see him due to CV restrictions 😥
