It’s a cosplay cabinet.

I’ve described it before as a Karaoke government

10,001 posts and @Jekyll is still spot on with the OP

aggghh how can this **** moron become the UK prime minister?
Appealing to the right wing gammons with all his previous work..as these are the people all riled who’ll bother to get out and vote.
He lies, he’s lied all the time, he has no integrity and must be held accountable for all his previous statements.

Best comment seen in recent days about Johnson is that he is so vile that even his clothes try to keep their distance from him.

Well, we can assume the Tories (probably with Johnson still leading them by the looks of things) will have a nice big campaign fund ready for the next election.

Bercow needs to get off the fence and stop mincing his words.

I'm afraid it is likely to be as simple as 'Tory'. Other much more appropriate answers are unlikely to fit with answers to other clues

Hmmm... the “don’t encourage pupils to be politically engaged” noise is being turned into official advice for teachers. By people who clearly don’t understand students… many are more likely to be trying to encourage adults to be politically engaged. All this because some kids criticised our dear leader (using the same arguments put forward by Conservative MPs and past Conservative ministers and a PM)? Is the “war on woke” line from Ministers being exposed as really being a “war on the young”?

I am reminded of a phrase I saw recently: "Democracy is not a spectator sport".

We should, no, we have a duty to encourage young adults to be engaged with democracy and the running of the country. The alternative is that democracy ceases to become representative of society

Nah its just part of their culture wars in general. Remember they need a new enemy now to blame everything on now that brexit has happened. Whilst the EU can, and will, be blamed still as much as possible it isnt quite as good a target as before so need plan b.
I wonder if they have really thought it through though eg “in a balanced manner”. might have the opposite affect from what they were hoping when applied to empire

The thing is, state school teachers are already advised (it’s more than that, it’s a legal duty) not to push a party political line on kids… this is about not encouraging kids to be politically engaged, to not encourage them to argue a political position… very odd… it’s not very in keeping with best practice from top schools like Eton College, is it.

But the rules may not really apply to places like Eton, after all, where would you want the leaders of the country to come from, the fine halls of Eton and Oxbridge, or the grimy state schools and the local shop floors?

Maybe one of them with nothing to hide will have enough of a conscience to leak more of the actual details in it
EDIT: Wishful thinking - just saw they cannot access info about anyone other than themselves

Here's what we know Sue Grey has written about you before you write your answer to any questions we're going to ask?

That's a new interview technique fo'shure.

Is Johnson attending the cobra meeting?

He didn't bother during a pandemic but after Partygate a bit of a storm might be enough...

I don;t think they should be fined for lockdown breaches, it is the least of their sins...

This. Down Whitehall onto Westminster Bridge and into the Thames.

Along with his sponsors, cronies and the rest of the useless tossers.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/feb/19/six-tory-donors-given-top-cultural-posts-since-boris-johnson-became-pm

1) state you want more Conservative people in key posts
2) privately invite Conservative donors to apply for key posts
3) ministers appoint Conservative donors to key posts
4) claim an open, fair, transparent and balanced appointment procedure is still in place

5) probably appoint someone from Vote Leave to oversee/audit the process in future

He'll do the whole "innocent until proven guilty", "being interviewed under caution is no indication of a crime being committed" guff that, while technically correct is just a way to deflect the reality.

the daily fail are reporting on a new poll suggesting half the cabinet and Johnson would lose their seats in a GE that was held now. (Labour would have a 14 seat majority with the tories losing 165 seats, in a result similar to Howard vs Blair)

His corruption is showing over Ukraine in that he will not go after the kleptocrats that have their money in london.  Either way he is in trouble on this one.  Freezes their funds then I am sure somone will complain and let out secrets about all the dodgy deals and all the money they pump into the tory party, continue to do nothing and he is helping Putin.

The man's worth £200billion. You can paper a whole flat for that and still have change left over.

Whilst almost all press attention is on Ukraine, what is DePleffel and his mates up to?

If we thought that party gate was a good time for him to “get stuff done on the quiet” imagine what opportunities this will have brought and I’ll bet that the Tories are not honourable enough to avoid doing so, rather will take full advantage.

Sadly we won't find out until it's too late but whatever they get up to can always be undone, Putin's war is more important right now. We can keep an eye on both but our focus might be drawn away at times.

Just when you think your contempt for him couldn't sink any lower, he surpasses himself...

Don't worry about people being massacred, our glorious leader has grabbed the opportunity for a party political broadcast

Whilst simultaneously giving his Russian Oligarch funders the chance to get their money out of the country

This is absolutely obscene! Its difficult to know where to start with this as it is so jarringly offensive on so many levels. Christ, I utterly loath this bastard and everything he represents. How on earth did we end up with this sub-human charlatan as our PM

Be fair... he's got to do this to fight off the advancing intellectual colossus Liz Truss. It's way more importanter than Slavic peeps fighting over stuff

The difference between Johnson and Starmer on PMs Q's just now is staggering.

Starmer is leading on details about our response to Russia... Johnson just keeps saying that the UK is "leading the way". Sadly, the repeated three word phrase will be far more easily absorbed and recalled by the voters than anything Starmer is (correctly) pushing on. We have a Prime Minister on the opposition benches, and a glib campaigner in the prime spot on the government benches. But that's not a mistake, it's where UK politics is right now.

I suspect that not for the first time Carole Cadwalladr may find herself in court with that tweet above.

Unless she’s got proof it’s straight forward defamation - and given her track record of getting quite basic facts wrong it could get expensive. You’d think that a competent journalist would have the nouse to differentiate actual facts from allegations…

See: https://order-order.com/people/carole-cadwalladr/
