So, earlier this week I cut my finger.  Washed it out and ignored it.  It wasn’t happy so I thought ignoring the problem and apply rule 5 was the correct course of action.  Get to today and I’ve no knuckles hand is so swollen and cut is oozing badly.  SWMBO ordered me to hospital (I was all for GP in Monday).

Local hospital immediately gave IV antibiotics packed me off to “the grownups” who put me on more IV antibiotics and then rushed me into surgery and flushed hand/wound and tendon sheaths .  This will need at least one repeat.

I was a day away from endangering the cut finger.......

i am an idiot.

Crap Friday joke thread is worth a look if you have not done.

Since you're in hospital might be time to find an archived version of the picolax and sudocrem cat threads.

I’ve had picolax.  Scary stuff.  Anything that boils and fazes as you add water to it should not be trifled with!

You could spend a couple of hours trying to get some decent upskirt shots before it becomes an illegal activity.

I did the same as you Bud..draining an old Peugeot radiator over a cut on my hand...came up like a boxing glove..came very near to losing a couple of fingers too.....then had to spend a week in hospital with my arms above my head and massive amounts of anti-biotic being run in as the bug would attack where the IV was put in...they never did identify what it was....got back to work (mechanic in said peugeot garage) and my boss gave me £10.00 sick pay for the week and said I should be happy with that!

Took weeks to get the taste out of my mouth too.

Enjoy?

Have you got an iPad or similar with you? If so Amazon Prime video and download Spaced series 1&2. Cost you about £8 but solid entertainment.

Assuming you have a tablet, internet and a credit card (optional!) what you need is a really good, long, box-set. Breaking Bad & Peep Show got me through my last hospital stay.

Good luck.

Been there, done that.

Not exactly sure what I did, but every doc said, "did you put your hand in sheep shit?" so I wonder if that's a clue.Anyway, expect to feel rough for quite a while after leaving hospital.

My top tip: audio books and the BBC Radio  app to listen to R4. The original radio series of Hitchhikers Guide is worth checking out too.
