Thank God we lost! People in the next street were up at 10.45 with a TV set up in the garden and the volume on full. I know the bloke, he's a cyclist so I went round and asked nicely if they would mind turning it down, which they did, though they seemed to be amazed that people wanted to go to bed. Idiots. The sooner we are knocked out and life can go back to normal, the better.

Football takes a right bashing in here. An honest answer would be that:

It's an easy game to watch
It doesn't take hours to watch
It's simple to understand
Any one can play it
You can play it anywhere
You can play it on your own, or on a team of 27, or in a match with 16 pairs playing at once, with one goal, two goals, goals at 90
Degrees to each other, against a wall, on any surface.
It's very cheap to play
It's fun to play
It's as easy or as hard as you make it
You can appreciate the difference in skill between your normal joe and the pros.

A full Sunday league team could have a years worth of kit for less than what my road bike cost, and god knows what some people on here spend on suspension forks, shocks and servicing costs.

Went to bed at 0130...only to get up at 0318 with the little one and up ever since. Not the Happy Father's Day I was quite expecting...however he did get me a new shifter so can't complain too much!

I have Italians on one side, Dutch on the other. No chav English anywhere near luckily. The Italians know how to party and invite half of Napoli over. Fair chance I'll be woken up by a party one side or another over the next month.

I fell asleep at half time and missed the deciding goal. My wife snoozed through the first half and kept dreaming things happening in the game then was confused when she woke up and they hadn't actually happened.
