Was it native, hybrid or Spanish?

A couple more have popped up this afternoon.

There's a small clump of hybrids not far from the 'proper' ones in those local woods. I might just nip out and dig them out next week and relocate them somewhere where they can't muck up the natives.

That sounds like a decent plan. We have some bluebells in the garden but they are hybrid. They are not near any natives otherwise they would have been dug out.

One of my favorite rides used to be through the woods at Bolton Abbey which is carpeted with bluebell and just stunning.

They're starting to show in small numbers here in east Shropshire. I spotted one flowering plant on the verge of a lane a couple of days ago (didn't have the phone with me at that time) and now the nearby bluebell wood is getting a few popping out this week.

Exhibit A

We saw quite few in Normandy recently - does that count?

It was really nice to see them and gorse, primroses, broom etc all flowering

PXL_20250409_103031694.PORTRAIT.jpg Down in Galloway for the week. We've had walks around a few woods at gatehouse of fleet and the carpets of bluebells are almost out. Their full splendor will only appear the day after we leave.

Near Castle Combe, quite a few out with Celandines and Primroses, not the best shot, but I was taking my friends dog for a walk, and he was eager to get to the river…

They were starting to come through when we were at the rather pleasant Cliveden House last weekend.  There's a large area of them fenced off in the woods.  We were a bit too early, but I think when they do come out they'll look spectacular!

'Native or Spanish' 3 posts in 🤣 ! I don't visit here enough. Literally my favourite catch phrase this time of year and I am sure I picked up from here.

Took the family up for a 'first bluebell hunt' last weekend. Saw a handful in bloom. Looks like it might be a bumper year for them though.

They've been starting to come through locally (Leeds) for about a week or so, but really coming to life now ...

There's a few starting to appear here in The Tweed Valley.

Mainly flowering wild garlic at the moment though.

Starting to show up in some numbers in a few places, these were along a lane near Castle Combe;

Another couple of weeks, and I’ll be off over to West Woods near Marlborough, usually an excellent display there.

First ride I've noticed them today.  Also oil seed rape is flowering as well. Less attractive, to be fair

And they're out in Calderdale, popping up here sometime in the last six days.

Some lovely pictures up there. On the outskirts of Reading, we are now in full bloom.

Primroses, celandines, vetch, violets and bluebells…

Wild garlic and bluebells… (but only a couple - it’s difficult to find a nice variety of different species all together in flower).
