I run the sound from my computer thru a stereo. Today there is a weird bleeping coming out of the speakers - but the amps are turned off and the stereo disconnected from the computer!

The setup is output from the computer into one amp running two speakers, line out from that amp into aux input in another amp running 4 prs of speakers thru a switching box.

How on earth can it be bleeping away when both amps are turned off and the stereo is disconnected from the computer? Its a series of bleeps over a few seconds then silence then repeat. Presumably somewhere it is picking up and inductive signal but how and where?

Help before I completely loose the plot!

Have you not seen the 'Let's mess with TJ's head' thread?

if you disconnect the speaker cables and it still does it I'd check it's not the answering machine you may have next to the stereo.

Alien abduction imminent TeeJay, best lube yourself up as they can be merciless with that probe, oh and empty crisp packets on your hands can help protect your fingernails from being ripped out as the beam pulls you into the craft.

Its deffo coming from the speakers. Its only intermittent as well - but eh sound just came back - both amps turned off, computer disconnected, speakers turned off at switching box and one but only one of the ten speakers is making this loud bleeping.

disconnect the cables from the speaker. move speaker to another room.

if noise comes from same place in room it's not the speaker.

if it still comes from the speaker then feel free to panic.

It's a time signal that they're using to synchronise the invasion - as in 'Independence Day'.
