I'm looking into travel insurance for a 2-month bike tour in Europe. It seems most travel insurance policies exclude bike touring. Does anyone have any recommendations for companies that can provide travel insurance that does cover bike touring and the bike?

The best I've found so far is through the CTC provided by City Bond ( http://www.citybond.co.uk/?refid=CTIN01, does anyone have any experience of these folks?

Cheers

Try these guys, I've used them for several cycling tours in the US. I've never made a claim though.

CTC and BMC are the two big providers. Don't scrip on travel insurance.

Mcmoonter, thanks for the suggestion. Their cover includes bike touring but it doesn't seem to cover the bike. But it is cheap. For those on a bike that isn't worth insuring then it'd make a great choice.

I think for bike touring on a decent bike the obvious choice of insurance is via the CTC - more pricey than others but it covers the bike. An extra £50 to cover the most essential part of touring isn't a bad deal in my mind.

I'm with Snowcard... the OP made me wonder whether they cover it, as I'd never considered it...

it appears that they do:
