Been ragging my Stumpjumper Expert round peaslake today.
Felt really skittish on Roots, hardpacked and "felt" too stiff...
Have set 10% sag on the front shock (Talas 32L) and 13mm sag on rear Float r shox.
(cant remember the exact shock pressure of my head)
Running Nobby Nics at 40Psi..
Rebound is set 50% on both shock.(there or thereabouts.)
Bike is fast, just feels like it lacks overall grip...
Do I lower shock pressures, or tyre PSi. (Running tubed)..
Any suggestions.?
what do you weigh? - 40psi is a touch high, and 10% sag doesn't sound like enough.
tell you what, you can do your own bloody homework, next ride, try soft shocks and tyres, see what it's like - take a shock pump so you can fiddle mid-ride.
see what works for you.

I would run at least 20% sag front and back then retune your damping. I never run my tyres over 35psi also tubed. But setup also depends on the trails you normally ride.
maybe drop to 35 psi on the tyres. I feel I have less grip if my brakes aren't sharp enough so was a bit disappointed with my runs down bkb. do you think that the cold is affecting the suspension? again mine seemed to have got increased damping effect so I hope it is the cold. anyway if i were you i would just make a few adjustments and if you don't like it you can always change it back
Normally fast, rooty, rocky singletrack. (afan, CYB), lots of roots and small rutts at Peaslake..
Currently weigh 13st.. was thinking 40PSi was a tad high.
Yeah, Was BKB today, not too cold.
Seemed to "jutter sideways" on some sections, just before the berms.. (gutted).
Telegraph was fast though!. Will try softening it all up..
25%-30% sag both ends and 35psi rear 30psi front, usually ok for trail centres for me. 90Kg 😯 Have a look at MOJO's website I'm sure there are videos explaining setup.
Your pressures sound high all round.
FWIW I love riding that area and run 25-28 psi in Stans set-up, would prob run 32-35 with tubes. Forks sagged around 25%.
All good, I have a play. n see how it goes.
Cheers guys.
