hi guys and girls
im off to cyprus end of this month and thought id ask the hive mind the best way to buy my currency
i need euros and about 600 pounds worth think as were going to cyprus the advice is to take cash (also taking a post office credit card)
so ive tryed on the net and the comparison sites have thrown out some options the best seems to be covent garden fx with a rate of 1.171
im just a bit worried about sending these people my money - has anyone had any dealings with these companys that deliver to your door or should i just take 15 or so euros less and go to the post office ? also anyone with a crystal ball think i should wait a few days if the rate may get a bit better?
any help would be great
thanks
pete
Anywhere but the departure airport....
I always use the calculator on the moneysavingexpert site.
Anywhere but the departure airport....
Why not ? Travelex Airport collection would only be 6€ less than the best rate he can find
on £600 it doesn't seem like the worst decision in the world really 😉
Departure airport is actually pretty good if you buy it online the day before and pick it up there.
I always get mine from Asda as they have really good rates, better than the Post Office.
Oh, I was going to say Post Office. Fairly good rates, commission free and generally pretty convenient. Compare the in-branch exchange rate with the internet rate though. I could have got a better deal walking in last year than ordering over the web.
