[#4796923]

My laptop is acting a bit funny. Need to do a scan on it but Norton has expired and I'm too cheap to pay for it again.

Thanks!

MSE.

Remove Norton first or they'll fight.

AVG. We had MSE & it didn't stop a costly virus a couple of months back.
Bloke who fixed it put AVG on. He rates it highly & had nothing to gain. He seemed to know what he was on about.

Do you need Malwarebytes with MSE?

MSE is not good enough anymore IMHO. At work we've switched to Kaspersky and Avira due to a number of machines getting infected (apparently from ads) despite running bang up to date defs and the highest security settings.

The downside of using their free versions is having to dismiss annoying popups once or twice a day.

MSE and Avast as a back up, IMO.

Avast is brilliant, just don't fall for their upgrade for a charge reminders.
