My vote goes for Man Machine by Kraftwerk. Listening to it just now after a half bottle of red and it's just incredible.
First that springs to mind is Orbital - Yellow album - cos its got Belfast and Chime on it!
Good shout. But I'm a knob and always loved In Sides!
I'm gonna say Blue Lines, because it was perfect at the time.
In Sides has got The Box and Petrol tho' so I could let you have that!
something by Shpongle I imagine.. not one for the purists though
Can't go wrong with any Massive Attack album.
Leftfield top of my list though.
In Sides has got The Box and Petrol tho' so I could let you have that!
Its 'The Girl With The Sun in her Head' that I really love on that album.
It's like Kraftwerk goin Balaeric!
Leftfield - Leftism
Leftism or R&S?
Could that sound like a ****ier question? 😳
screamadelica
Fluke: Techno Rose of Blighty.
Or Dare...
Screamadelica is a fine suggestion.. what about
Two Lone Swordsmen - Tiny Reminders..
Any of Heaven 17's first 3.
Great albums already.
Screamadelica? Slip Inside This House has to be one of the best covers ever!
The reason for my username!
Tiny reminders is ****in awesome! Brootle!

Good call on Screamadelica. Defined a few years for me that one did.
I saw the recent tour, and whilst the Screamadelica set was very good, it was clear that the band just wanted to play rock n roll. The encore took the roof off with Jailbird/rocks/country girl.
Leftism another great album.
For me, another one was FSOL Accelerator. It used to just keep looping in the car.
Nitin Sawhney - Beyond Skin deserves a mention too I reckon..
and Akasha Project but I couldn't pick an album.. maybe Cosmic Ambient Garden.. and my last nomination will be..
The Irresistible Force - It's Tomorrow Already
Never heard that one rob. I love Add Insult to Injury though. I have the CD with the scratch and sniff cover! 🙂
Endtroducing...
Of course...DJ Shadow.
In that case, I'll chuck in Brainfreeze.
This thread is fairly fuelling my spotify playlist. Not listened to Nitihn Sawhney for a long time.
Im going to add Amon Tobin - Out From Out Where and Boards Of Canada - Music Has the Right....
Another vote for The Man Machine.
Or Incunabla by Autechre.
Or Selected Ambient Vol. 1
Or the Pi soundtrack. Does that count?
Music Has the Right to Children
Selected Ambient Works II
Untrue
Endtroducing
Oxygene
Oscillons from the Anti-Sun
Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld
first time I went proper clubbing, I saw a live set by Children of the Bong....
for that reason - Sirius Sounds is getting a place in the line up.
I'll throw in Second Toughest in the Infants - Underworld
Lcd soundsystem
Id count the Pi soundtrack!
Speaking of soundtracks....
Leftism is genius!
808 state - pacific is an under-rated gem.
Massive Attack - Mezzanine when you're in a dark, thoughtful mood
Underworld - dubnobass takes some beating. Just for 'cowgirl' alone!
Does the happy Mondays hallelujah EP count? It's one of the greatest of any genre, ever recorded!
And for retro electronic, how about OMD - Architecture and Morality? Just listen to Georgia. Superb!
Underworld; any of their albums but Beaucoup Fish being the best
Four Tet - There is love in you
Managed to forget Orbital too, and Unkle, and the Orb.
For me, another one was FSOL Accelerator. It used to just keep looping in the car.
Smiling now remembering when it was gloveboxes full of tapes, recorded by mates, and there was always something new tagged on the end to fill the 90mins. 🙂

Tubular Bells,

Oxygene,
Journey tot the centre of the world, Rick Wakeman
Glitch Mob done well here too!!
Vitalic - Flashmob
All this talk has made me look forward even more to the first festival of the season....
Loads of bands, but when the sun goes down - I'll be with this lot:
THE ASHAN PROJECT
SYSTEM 7
ASTRALASIA
THE PRODUCER [Universe]
LIQUID ROSS
BEZ23
SPACEHOPPER
ZUBZUB
BANCO DE GAIA
And reading the posts I missed - CJ bolland. Brilliant. Messy night up the Orbit.
Daft Punk - Homework to me remains their finest moment.
I'll chuck in Timeless, loads of good memories.
Daft Punk - good call.
Which brings to mind Air and Moon Safari as well.

Autechre - Tri Repetae... Still fresh!
Exit Planet Dust should have a mention! Not bad for 3 weeks work!
